Washing the potatoes

Patatas Gómez makes sure that the potatoes reach the end consumer in perfect conditions. At its facilities, all the potatoes are washed after they are calibrated with the goal of separating the units depending on their use and kind of customer.

Depending on the customer, the calibres are separated out. Two jumbo tumblers are used to sort the potatoes while protecting them from blows.

Once they have been calibrated, the potatoes are taken to the washer, which can handle up to 25,000 kilos of potatoes per hour, where ozone and chlorine are applied. They are then painstakingly placed into ten large hoppers (holding 25,000 kilos each) where they are stored until packaged. To do this, Patatas Gómez has refrigeration facilities which guarantee that the product is preserved in optimal conditions.
