Patatas Gómez cares for its potatoes to the utmost. From their arrival in our warehouses until they are conserved in the chamber, several fundamental steps are taken, such as temperature control, washing, calibrating, frying tests and other preventative health measures.
Patatas Gómez ensures that the conditions are optimal, and to do so, it takes an initial sample. Around 100 tubers are chosen from different places on the lorry in which they were transported, and in the laboratory they are subjected to a small-scale quality control tests to check their behaviour in their subsequent transformation in the factory. For example, a frying test enables us to check whether the potatoes keep the right quality, and heat exposure tell us whether any disease develops.
The result of these tests determines whether the potatoes are suitable for consumption.
